CROWN is a newly affiliated riding club with the BRC Area 5 for riders in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northants. Since our launch in January 2014, we now have over 225 senior riding, non-riding and junior members for 2016 and these numbers continue to grow each day. CROWN welcomes riders of all abilities, from the beginner to the more advanced rider and also non-riding members who may not ride or may have a youngster and are unable to take part in ridden activities yet. Whatever your circumstance is, there is always something for everyone.
Our membership runs from the 1st April to the 31st March and we are able to offer full riding membership to adults and juniors from thirteen years of age as well as non-riding membership. At any point you can upgrade your membership type if you do find yourself suddenly inspired to get back in the saddle – it has happened!
We truly believe that there is a place in the local equestrian community for a new forward thinking, creative, fun and professional club. At CROWN we pride ourselves on offering our members support, encouraging them to reach their personal goals and helping them in whatever way we can on their journey to success. With regular training every weekend and summer week day evenings, we have sourced the best local venues across the three counties with top local instructors who boast a wealth of experience in dressage, show jumping and cross country. All information on our trainers can be found on the trainers page and all training dates are available under the events tab.
The key to life is variety and trying something new. CROWN offers something a little bit different with regular organised hacks, equine spas, experience days, talks, demos and introductions into other areas of the sport such as polo, natural horsemanship, horse agility and showing to name but a few. On top of this, we run both a Spring and Summer Camp at the fabulous Unicorn Trust in Stow-on-the-Wold, a Spring and Autumn Hunter Trial at Swalcliffe Park Equestrian and a Stressless Dressage League. There’s no stopping us!
Having recently gained our provisional affiliation with the BRC within Area 5, CROWN can now look forward to taking part in BRC team and individual events, qualifiers and hopefully championships! We have had a huge amount of success so far within our first competitive year with numberous team and individual placings. Our Junior 90 Team and Senior 100 Individual recently qualified and attended the FOTH Championships at Aston-le-Walls with our juniors placing a fantastic 10th place overall and Senior rider Zara Heathcote individual 3rd! Not only that but we have also recently qualified for the NAF Senior Dressage Championships at Lincoln in September and also have a team competing at the prestigious Blenheim RC Eventer 90 Challenge! If you are interested in representing the club and keen to be involved please get in touch – everyone is welcome!
As a committee we really value our members. So much so, we think it is so important to recognises individual efforts, dedication and contribution towards the club throughout the year. At our AGM, these members are individually recognised and thanked with a token of our appreciation for being quite simply, brilliant!
But that’s enough talking as actions speak louder than words and we need to crack on!
Welcome to CROWN!
Fun, friendly, fabulously welcoming riding club, happy people, beautiful horses and amazing trainers, what more could anyone wish for in a riding club. One very satisfied junior members Mum
Lovely, friendly people. Fab organisation. Excited for the club’s future!
My daughters and I are always welcomed by trainers, the committee and other members alike and the standard and cost of training is excellent. I’m pleased to be part of a group of people who enjoy their horses and the company of other like minded people. Tessa Heathcote
CROWN has made me feel so welcome from the start. I’m not lucky enough to have my own horse and other clubs don’t have much to offer me, but the social side, learning and fun atmosphere at CROWN makes it perfect for me. CROWN offered a better, accessible club for all. Isabel-May Stafford – Non-riding Member
Finally a club for the Riders run by riders!! A committee that fully understands what it is a rider wants to achieve with their horse and how to have fun, whilst regaining lost confidence! Stacey Henderson
CROWN is the most well organised & friendly club around! An incredible number of lessons, clinics and events every month – all great fun & with amazing cakes! Anne Cooper
